Wojtek Kazimierczak

Bio

Born October the 26th 1992 in Zory, southern Poland.

In 2012-2014 studied at Institute of Art in Cieszyn, then in October 2014 I have started education at the Painting department in Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice.

Art is treated by my as inward and outward journey, completing its goal in achieving targets in studio, as well as in outdoor environments. Journey in that sense is considered literally. Some projects couldn’t have been developed without travelling to different places. Movement is one of the most essential factors of my art, in the same way the process of development should be dynamic and diverse, I reckon. That’s why all those miscellaneous approaches to each individual project occur in my works.

Output of many projects and thoughts has its origin in ponder over relations with nature , absolute power and man’s creation. In that way I base my art on firm ground - the nature.

I’m the young artist who share deepest reverence to painting traditions developped over centuries . Technology and knowledge, I believe, allows to get new qualities by combining concept, traditional and own techniques together . My appreciation to art from the past eventuated in having spent hundreds of hours in museums around Europe and US, where I’ve learnt uncountable amount of things just by observation. At a time contemporary art is my strongest base, and both past and present braid into one thing.
